Frequently Asked Questions

What is NextGen Ministry?

NextGen Ministry helps kids, students, and college young adults grow in their faith, build real friendships, and feel connected at Friends Church. Our goal is to create safe, fun, and meaningful environments where every young person can know Jesus and belong.

What should I do if my family is new?

We would love to meet you. You can register your child, student, or young adult online before your first visit, or stop by our check-in area when you arrive. Our team will help you find the right space and answer any questions.

Is NextGen safe for my child?

Yes. Safety is very important to us. Our teams use check-in systems, trained volunteers, and age-appropriate environments to help every child and student feel safe, welcomed, and cared for.

What is available for College Young Adults?

College Young Adults is for people in their college years and 20s who want to grow spiritually, build community, and find real connection with others in a similar season of life.

Are NextGen leaders/volunteers screened?

Yes. NextGen volunteers and leaders go through an application and approval process before serving. Our goal is to place caring, responsible, and trusted adults in every environment.

What age groups are part of NextGen?

NextGen includes three main age groups: Kids Ministry for birth through 3rd grade, Students Ministry for 4th through 12th grade, and College Young Adults for ages 18 to 20s.

Do I need to register before attending?

Registration is recommended for kids, students, and special events because it helps us prepare well. Some events may require registration in advance, especially camps, weekend experiences, and limited-capacity gatherings.

What happens during Kids Ministry?

Kids experience a fun and safe environment with worship, Bible teaching, games, small groups, and caring leaders. Everything is designed to help children learn about God in a way they can understand and enjoy.

What happens during Students Ministry?

Students gather for worship, teaching, small groups, events, camps, and community. It is a place where middle school and high school students can ask questions, grow in faith, and build strong friendships.
