Connect.

The teenage years can be tricky. This is why Friends Student Ministries partners with parents in the spiritual development of each student's faith. Our staff and volunteer leaders are committed to knowing every young person and offering biblical encouragement to help them navigate the issues they’re facing.

Learn.

As part of a small group, students have the opportunity to encounter Jesus every week. Through in-depth Bible study, guidance from committed leaders, and ongoing interaction with peers about questions of faith, each young person is challenged to stretch, grow, and learn.

Engage.

Fun outings and activities provide students with opportunities to interact with other kids of faith and develop positive friendships that center on the same values and priorities. Our hope is that these relationships extend beyond the weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Friends Students helps junior high and high school students feel welcomed, build meaningful friendships, grow in their faith, and connect with trusted leaders in a safe and encouraging environment.

What is Friends Students?

Friends Students is a ministry for junior high and high school students where they can grow in their relationship with Jesus, connect with peers, and learn how to follow God in everyday life. Students experience worship, biblical teaching, small groups, events, and caring adult leaders who help them navigate the teenage years.

Is Friends Students safe?

Yes. Student safety matters to us. Our staff and volunteer leaders are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment where every student can feel known, respected, and cared for.

Does my student need to register before coming?

For regular Sunday and Wednesday gatherings, students can usually come and get connected when they arrive. Some events, camps, and life groups may require sign-up. If your family is new, we recommend checking the current events and group links on the Students page before attending.

What is the difference between Junior High and High School?

Junior High and High School students have separate spaces and gatherings so the teaching, small groups, and conversations can fit their stage of life.

What if my student is shy or does not know anyone?

That is completely okay. Many students feel nervous the first time they come. Our leaders are there to help students feel welcomed, introduce them to others, and make it easier to get connected at their own pace.

What grades can attend Friends Students?

Friends Students is designed for junior high and high school students. Junior High meets on Wednesdays from 7-9P during the school year and Sundays at 9A and 11A. High School meets on Wednesdays from 7-9P during the school year and Sundays at 9A and 11A.

What happens during Students Ministry?

Students gather for worship, biblical teaching, small group conversations, games, community, and meaningful moments with leaders and friends. Our goal is to help students connect with Jesus and apply their faith to real-life questions, challenges, and decisions.

Can my student bring a friend?

Absolutely. Friends are always welcome. Friends Students is a great place for students to invite classmates, neighbors, teammates, or anyone looking for community and encouragement.

Are there small groups for students?

Yes. Small groups help students build deeper friendships, ask honest questions, and grow in their faith with guidance from committed leaders. Friends Students offers Junior High, High School, and Fortified Life Group opportunities.

Are parents involved?

Yes. Friends Students partners with parents in the spiritual development of their students. The ministry exists to support families, encourage students, and help parents stay connected to what their student is learning and experiencing.

What should my student bring?

Students do not need to bring anything special. A Bible, notebook, or phone for taking notes can be helpful, but the most important thing is simply showing up ready to connect, learn, and have fun.
