What to Expect

Each morning in our Senior Champion program, we livestream the church service at a lower volume. There are opportunities for social interaction, worship and 1-1 care if needed. Our little champions participate in a Bible story time.

Gifted from God with Volunteers

Our staff of amazing volunteers are trained to lead a developmental program that combines safety and care for your child along with a Bible-based curriculum. Our time together includes sharing and exploring specific verses for a fun and meaningful learning experience.

Our Goal

We strive to provide an environment that allows each Champion time to experience Jesus and one another in ways that engage and inspire spiritual growth. Our heart is to provide a safe space that fosters an environment of inclusion that allows each Champion time to experience Jesus and one another in ways that engage and inspire spiritual growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Champions Club gives our families a new opportunity to share Jesus with their children. Discover the answers to some of the questions and concerns you might have.

What is a Champions Club?

Here at Friends, our Champions Club is a unique individualized developmental program for kids and adults with special needs. Our desire is to help your child grow spiritually, intellectually, mentally and physically.

What will my child experience in Champions Club?

Each morning will consist of sensory play, worship and praise, Biblical teaching and snacks. Our heart is to provide a safe space that fosters an environment of inclusion that allows each Champion time to experience Jesus and one another in ways that engage and inspire spiritual growth.

Do I have to switch from my 1-1 to the Champions Club Room?

Absolutely NOT. We will continue our 1-1 full inclusion program. The Champions Club program is simply another option for your child to learn and grow in Christ.

Do I have to attend on Sunday to be a part of the Champions Club?

Again, absolutely NOT.  Champions will have special events throughout the year (Respite Nights, Parent Groups/Meetings, and special parties and get togethers for Champion families). As a Champion family you will receive invitations to all of our special events.

Do I need to register?

We would definitely prefer that each family register. For those that plan to attend our Sunday programming, it will help us ensure that the room is appropriately staffed.  If you will not be participating in Sunday’s in Champions, registering will allow us the opportunity to invite you to our events throughout the year. You can register your family for Champions Club by clicking on our Champions Club Registration link and filling our form so we can get to know and understand each individual better. One of our staff will contact you shortly after and have a personal conversation with you regarding your champion. The conversation will cover the flow/schedule of the morning, what to expect and questions that will help our team assist parents in prepping for the first day.

Where can I ask additional questions?

We look forward to partnering with you and helping your family grow together in your faith journey. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact our Early Childhood Director, Natalie Washington, at nataliew@friends.church or at 714-271-2026.
