Friends Singles is a Christ-centered community designed for single adults in their 40's and 50's founded on the truth that a relationship with our Creator brings deeper meaning to our work, relationships, and life. We believe that healthy people create healthy relationships, so our focus is on building a healthy community through groups. Join us this fall to grow in your faith with community as we study the Beatitudes together.
When Jesus lived on earth in the first century, Israel was under the ruthless rule of the brutal Roman Empire—a time marked by bloody, gruesome wars as empires clashed for power. Like the Jews, Jesus’ followers were oppressed by the Romans. But unlike the Jews, they believed Jesus was the King who would free them in a final battle, calling down the power of the heavenly armies to smite the enemy once and for all.
But Jesus had a different plan.
He turned their expectations upside down, revealing not an external Kingdom won by force, but an internal Kingdom that transforms hearts. This Kingdom wouldn’t come through the bloodshed of many, but through the bloodshed of One.
Through this 9-week study of the Beatitudes, we will study the instructions that Jesus gives for living in the Kingdom and in the very presence of God.
