When Jesus lived on earth in the first century, Israel was under the ruthless rule of the brutal Roman Empire—a time marked by bloody, gruesome wars as empires clashed for power. Like the Jews, Jesus’ followers were oppressed by the Romans. But unlike the Jews, they believed Jesus was the King who would free them in a final battle, calling down the power of the heavenly armies to smite the enemy once and for all.

But Jesus came with a different kind of power—and a different kind of Kingdom.

Instead of leading a rebellion, He invited people into a Kingdom not built by force, but by transformation. A Kingdom not of outward conquest, but of inward change. One that would not be won through the bloodshed of many, but through the sacrifice of One.

In this 9-week study of the Beatitudes, we’ll explore Jesus’ invitation to live in His upside-down Kingdom—and experience His presence in our everyday lives.

Join a group for this journey and walk this path alongside others who are seeking to follow Jesus more deeply.
